About Equi-Centered

A Note from the Founders

equi-centered grew out of a shared sense of deep appreciation for what horses are willing to teach us. It is located on a scenic ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley on the central coast of California. We have very similar mindsets, yet we come from dramatically different backgrounds. The common denominator in all that we do is our equine partners. They have the ability to hold a mirror up to our strengths and our weaknesses. They can help provide enhanced functionality in management styles, leadership skills, communication and relationship building. They force you to be in the moment, they demand your honesty, and they require you to be all in – genuine – authentic. Simply put, they cut through the bullshit.

In these turbulent times, equi-centered provides a space to learn to process and adjust. On our 20-acre ranch, working with horses can teach us how to adapt- as they have done so successfully for well over 50,000,000 years. A session (or more) spent with our equine partners can provide not only a much-needed change of venue, but also a new way to view and process our circumstances and surroundings, relationships, and/or acclimate to an new way of life.
